Since Google is giving away more backlink data, and I’ve been saying social media is really about getting the backlinks I thought It’s time to put up or shut up and show some stats.
Here are my top 10 pages with the most backlinks. The first column is the URL, the second is the number of backlinks the third (in parenthesis) is the number of diggs

While you can’t say there is a direct correlation between the number of Diggs and number of backlinks, there is high correlation between writing linkbait (yes that’s right I write linkbait and am not ashamed, in fact I’m damn proud to admit it!) and getting links, period. The one post with no number I know is in Digg but can’t find it since its from 2005 and I shifted URL’s around from that point and just can’t find it.
