IMHO one of the hallmarks of good site architecture is ease of crawlability. For those of you in the back row, that means keeping everything no more than 2 or 3 levels (clicks) from any other page or the homepage. WordPress by default displays however many posts you selected to display on the homepage in every archive category, unless you are green pixel monster that’s just some bad mojo. After poking around I found the custom query string plug-in. It let’s you configure different levels for each category, setting, or dozens of other subdivisions. Why you wouldn’t want to display them all is beyond me, but hey at least you can set it so high (99,999) it won’t ever be an issue again. Go forth and increase your crawlability.
